SOTD #2 – Portal by Linda May Han Oh

Today’s song of the day is Portal by Linda Oh. There’s so much to love about this one. Infectious bass line, tight rhythm section, the way she drives the band. Ambrose Akinmusire’s playing is also brilliant here — fresh, melodic ideas and extended techniques. I especially like the rhythmic modulation towards the end. Can’t wait for the new record.
