Song of the day

SOTD #5 – Turnstyle by Chris Weisman

I found this recently and was blown away. Wild chords. I hear Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, R. Stevie Moore but this is absolutely its own thing. The way the verse resolves itself is really beautiful and I have no idea how/why it works.

SOTD #4 – No Words by Tim Hagans

Today’s song is No Words by Tim Hagans. What really gets me about this one is the contrast between the playful, diatonic melody and the more discordant bridge/solos. Also Marc Copland’s comping.
